It’s Monday Fit Fem’rs, time for motivation!

I got this really awesome email from one of my cardio kickboxing class students Ellie a few weeks ago, and it just made me smile. Love Ellie and her entire family. I always smile when they take my classes, such energy, it’s contagious. Here’s what I love about this particular family. 4 daughters, a wife and husband.  Haha and they all look alike – gorgeous and in shape! Yes that’s 5 ladies and 1 dude that take my classes together as a family. How awesome right?? How many families do you know workout together, let alone eat at the dinner table together and do fun activities together? Not many. Everyone is so consumed with busyness of life they forget to actually take the time and enjoy the good things in life, TOGETHER. This family really inspires me. I HEART THEM!!!

Pole Dancing Is Sexy Fitness

post image

Hmm pole dancing? Yes pole dancing.

I was a bit apprehensive at first when I was considering what my next blog topic would be since I’ve never pole danced before. It got me thinking though…pole dancing is exotic, maybe dirty, but it’s one of those “art forms”  that can build power, self-esteem and confidence. Why? Well if you can master movement around a big pole and look hot doing it, well you are one SEXY FIT FEM’R.  HUBBA HUBBA!!

post image

Ask the Fit Fem: Oh SH**, I mean SUGAR

post image

Whaddddupppp Fit Fem’rs! I’ve got a great question for you this week! Ya ready??

I love love love love love love love love fruit. It helps me satiate my sweet tooth, and I just LOVE it… in any form. Dried, fresh, in a juice… but I am trying to lose some weight, and I know that I should be restricting my sugar intake. Is it more important to get the vitamins from fruit or do you think that the sugar may inhibit my weight loss. Is natural sugar really different than processed sugar?

Sugar dum dum dummmm, the dreaded sugar question!! A lot of experts say fruits and veggies are key to weight loss programs, and yea I agree. But you and I both know fruit is natural sugar. If you feel like you are eating too much fruit, then your hunch is right and you should probably cut back a little bit. Does that mean you cut fruit out completely? No because fruit has so many vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber your body needs but be mindful of how much you are actually consuming.  And do your research and find which fruits have the most sugar.  Example - grapes! Yumm while super delicious they are among the sweetest and have the most natural sugar. So you want to lose weight?
