Just Like That It’s 2015

Oh my goodness it’s 2015!

I still can’t believe it. It seems as the older I get, the quicker the time passes. I remember as a child, the days were long and years seemed longer. I would look at 30, 40, 50, 60+ year olds as OLD, and now look at me! My child self is in awe of what I’ve become today.

With age comes a ton of wisdom. I don’t take every living moment for granted anymore. And while I absolutely hate resolutions .... (I’ll tell you why in just a moment)....I promised myself that this is the year I cherish as many living, breathing moments I can.

Your Valentine’s Gift

Let me start off by saying how much I really LOVE YOU! And Happy Valentine’s Day!

Monday night was beautiful. It was my first real “speaking engagement” in a room of women entrepreneurs. (Let’s call them Fem’preneurs.)

I was nervous about speaking my truth in public. You see I have no problem writing my feelings and sharing my personal stories but when it comes to speaking, well that’s another animal. Be as it may, I still spoke MY TRUTH! I bared all!

My story? A fat kid, a body obsessed teen & adult, a diet pill addict, a chronic dieter and exerciser, and a woman living with Lupus.  I shared my story because I know each and everyone of us have suffered in some way - whether it was body shaming, yo-yo-dieting, or an obsession with the treadmill.

You Should Totally Eat Bad Over The Holidays

I’m about to give you some really horrible advice:

I purposely did not post an article during Christmas because well it was Christmas!  I took a break from emails, blogging, and social media for a few days.  I just wanted to take the time to relax and enjoy it with my family and friends.  I hope you did the same.
On to the horrible advice…. Admit it, we all ate like (& drank like) “shizit” these past few days. I definitely did! And I’m admitting it.  And I can bet you’ve come across articles from your favorite Self, Shape, Glamour, Women’s Health, telling you how to “avoid the holiday bulge”. Well I think all of that advice is hogwash.
