The Marilyn Monroe Diet

Happy Friday my Fit Fem'rs! It has been 50 years since the death of Marilyn Monroe and her work, life and her DIET have been recently put in the spotlight

It has been reported numerous times that the curvy bombshell has had issues with her weight.  According to an article (link:http://www.shape.com/blogs/weight-loss-coach/day-marilyn-monroes-diet)  in Shape Magazine, Monroe shared her diet in a 1952 issue of Pageant Magazine, a monthly publication that covered celebrities, health and popular culture . The superstar said that her everyday eating pattens helped her to control her fluctuating weight.

The Marilyn Monroe Diet:

Breakfast:
1 cup of warm milk with two raw eggs mixed into it

Lunch:
None

Dinner:
Broiled steak, lamb or liver with 4-5 raw carrots

Evening snack:
Hot fudge sundae

The Fit Fem Weighs In: Not Good! Marilyn Monroe did not eat enough and her meals were not balanced. She only ate two meals and no healthy snacks in between. And she left the high cal dessert to the end of the night? That's a big NO NO.  It can wreak all kinds of hormonal havoc to the body. No wonder Marlyn had issues with fluctuating weight.  It kind of reminds me of the Starbucks diet. Ya know, when all you do is drink frapps all day and consume nothing else. I know it's always calories in and calories out, but I'm a supporter of always consuming quality calories - meaning foods with vital nutrients, vitamins and minerals. I recommend that you eat every two to threee hours and have a good balance of proteins, fruits, veggies and water, water water!

Her diet proves that even though a woman may have a killer body, it does not necessarily mean that she is healthy or that she takes care of her body properly.
