Fall has arrived – even though the weather seems a bit confused these days. Humid and hot as we head into October??? Let’s get it together Mother Nature!! I am ready for my sweats and hoodie style to return.

But if you are a Facebook goer you will see that fall is in full swing – families are out and about picking pumpkins and apples – I know I cannot wait till Mary is old enough to enjoy those activities.

People are enjoying pumpkin flavored beverages (both hot and cold) and desserts that can be made with pumpkin filling and apple spices. It is a delicious and savory time of year.

Fit Fem of the Month - August 2015

Did you know that I am a new mommy? Yes indeedy, I have an infant at home and now I really know what it is like to have ZERO time as a mama. Now I can relate to all those moms I have spoken to in the past telling me “I don’t have time to workout.” I’m not giving those mamas an easy pass but I am sensitive to their needs…because I too know exactly what it is like to forget to brush your teeth, skip a meal, and maybe not even shower because baby is crying…baby comes first after-all!

Like I said, there is no easy pass for not exercising and moving your body. Exercise makes you a stronger women physically, mentally, and emotionally. It makes you a better woman, spouse, professional, friend and of course mama!!

Mid summer! I can’t believe how time flies.

Typically people fall off the exercise bandwagon come summer time – pool parties, bbqs, happy hour, vacation – it’s challenging to stick to a fitness and nutrition routine when temptations are all around us.

Yet, there are the few exceptions who have committed and have been successful! Evelyn is one of those exceptions, which is why she is July’s Fit Fem of the Month.

Fit Fem of the Month - June 2015

You know what’s awesome. When clients decide “it is time to invest in ME”. Let’s face it, most people view personal training as a luxury…but folks, this is far from the truth. Exercise and proper personal training are a MUST if you plan on being and feeling your fit most self…not for a short term but for life!

I remember chatting with Kerri on the phone when we signed her up for the 12 Week Transformation Challenge. She knew she had to do this for herself…and guess what she did…she committed herself the program and made a difference in her own life.

A few months ago, I decided to offer something completely new to The Fit Fem. I’ve decided to beta test a new program called the 12 Week Transformation Program where women would challenge themselves to commit to 12 weeks of complete transformation – from 2-3 days a week of committed exercise with their very own in- home personal trainer, a nutrition plan, and Facebook group to keep these women accountable.  This wasn’t just a package of personal training. This was about COMMITMENT! This was about true TRANSFORMATION!

Spring is in the air. FINALLY!!!

As flowers bloom, so do we. (Sounds cheesy, I know but stick with me here). It’s a Universal Law! When we plant seeds, we expect flowers to blossom right? Well there is no exception when it comes to human beings. We plant seeds of goals we want to accomplish. We water our goals (put the work in), put them in sunlight (nourish ourselves), and then we BLOOM (accomplish EXACTLY what we wanted). Just like that!

We have one particular client who has really blossomed into a super strong Fit Fem and I couldn’t be any prouder. Really, she rocks so much! March’s Fit Fem is a DEDICATED FIT FEM who is entitled to CELEBRATE!!!! Her name is Kelly R. WHOOP WHOOP!

Based in Long Island, New York, Sylvia Nasser is the CEO and Co-President of The Fit Fem Studio, LLC. She offers in-home personal training services to local residents in NY and CT.
