So I had a pretty cool week; I learned the power of saying YES even though you want to say NO when you really, really want to say YES. Confusing? Let me explain.

Fitness Is Not Seasonal, It’s A Lifestyle

Hey Fit Fem’r! As you know, summer is on it’s way. Yes, hot weather, shorts and our favorite…bikinis!  It’s around this time that I hear a couple of phrases constantly, ” Gotta get summer ready,” ” Gotta get a summer body,” “Gotta get bikini ready,” and the list goes on!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a goal. In fact I love goals!  But what I have a problem with is people starting to exercise and eat right just because they want to look good in the summer. Fitness is a lifestyle people, it is not seasonal thang!

What I Learned From a SoulCycle Class

Hey Fit Fem’r! So recently (and secretly), I tried the new fitness craze, SoulCycle. For those of you who don’t know, SoulCycle is an intense form of cycling in which one rides to a music beat for 45 miniutes. They say you can burn up to 700 calories in those 45 minutes. In a class, the lights are low and attendees ride by candlelight (yes they really do). It combines inspirational coaching and high-energy music that is meant to benefit the body and the mind.

Now when I first heard of this, I thought it was ridiculous!

Sending Our Love to Boston

When I first heard about the bombing at the Boston Marathon, I wanted to cry. Why I asked myself. Why do things like this happen in the world? I have no words.

As thoughts entered my mind on how cruel this world can be, I thought of why people go to and enter marathons.

The beauty of a marathon is that people come together to reach one goal..to make it to the finish line. Friends and family stand on the sidelines cheering on their loved ones to make to the end.

The Fit Fem Rant: Leave Kim Alone!

What’s going on Fit Fem’r? Now today I am going to do something that I don’t normally do and that is talk about a celebrity. Even though I hate doing it, I just could not help myself and had to speak on this topic!

As you all know, Kim Kardashian is preggo with Mr. Kayne’s babaaay!  Now many of you know how uncomfortable pregnancy can be and how you don’t feel your most beautiful during that time (I don’t personally know but I do have my sis-in-law who’s got 2 kiddies- love my nephews so much - and so many of my girlfriends have little rugrats at home). Reports and photos have shown that Kim has gained a lot of weight. What is pissing me off is how the media and gossip-obsessed women are talking about her.
