Hey fabulous Fit Fem’r! Today I want to talk about a controversial topic.
So, a few weeks ago, I was sitting with a friend who asked me a great question, “Who are better trainers for ladies, men or women?” And I had to really sit with that one and make sure I was not being bias because, ummm well, I am a female fitness trainer with women clients!
Hey Fit Fem’r! So the other day I was sitting and chatting with a friend of mine and we started talking about childhood nursery rhymes (I swear I did not mean for that to rhyme, Ha!). So as we strolled down memory lane and spoke about the ones we remembered, I realized something! Some of those rhymes actually have to do with fitness and determination!—OK just bear with me, I am not crazy, I promise! (fine maybe I am but only a teeny bit)
Who remembers the movie, “Beauty and the Beast?” The dainty little lady, the beauty, was soft and feminine, while the beast was big and strong. Well Belles today I am telling you that there is nothing wrong with being a beast! In the gym that is!
If you were a girl born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s, you were more than likely a Disney movie fan. Especially of the flicks that starred princesses!!! “The Little Mermaid,” “Cinderella,” “Beauty and the Beast” and the list goes on.
Hey Fit Fem’r! Today I am going to talk about something a little weird or better yet a bit disgusting—poop, doody or whatever you call it! Today I am going to talk about the importance of bowel movements in weight loss. It’s a nasty subject, but someone has to talk about it!
Hey Fit Fem’r! As you know, summer is on it’s way. Yes, hot weather, shorts and our favorite…bikinis! It’s around this time that I hear a couple of phrases constantly, ” Gotta get summer ready,” ” Gotta get a summer body,” “Gotta get bikini ready,” and the list goes on!
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a goal. In fact I love goals! But what I have a problem with is people starting to exercise and eat right just because they want to look good in the summer. Fitness is a lifestyle people, it is not seasonal thang!
Hey Fit Fem’r! So recently (and secretly), I tried the new fitness craze, SoulCycle. For those of you who don’t know, SoulCycle is an intense form of cycling in which one rides to a music beat for 45 miniutes. They say you can burn up to 700 calories in those 45 minutes. In a class, the lights are low and attendees ride by candlelight (yes they really do). It combines inspirational coaching and high-energy music that is meant to benefit the body and the mind.
Now when I first heard of this, I thought it was ridiculous!
