Karen - Lost 80 lbs

“I just thought I needed to tell you this. People always tell me what an inspiration I am, so I thought I should tell you what an inspiration you have been to me. I started my weight loss journey almost 2 years ago. When I joined Lucille Roberts I was about 3 months into my weight loss journey. I was 255lbs and completely out of shape.

Your kickboxing class was the first class I took. You scared the shit out of me, I’m not gonna lie! I thought "I can't do this" But you were so positive throughout the class and made me push thru something I thought I would never be able to do. I remember you even came up to me and screamed "keep going, I love seeing sweat" something along those lines. And, to this day I think part of the reason why I am down 80lbs is because you’re an inspiration to me.

I know I may be quiet, but I wanted you to know how much you have impacted my life. I read your posts every day, I read your website…. I am also the reason why Emily started attending your classes, I told her I was obsessed with you!. Your story still inspires me to this day. I have some toning to do now that I lost all this weight and every time I read your story, it reminds me that I can do this, because you were just like me and look at you now....thank you for all your words of inspiration and never giving reminds me every day that giving up is not an option...this is my lifestyle now, and I love it.”

Noreen - Lost 20 lbs

I first met Sylvia at a local gym while she was teaching a kickboxing class. I immediately fell in love with her and her class! She has a contagious personality that is so motivating. Meeting Sylvia resulted in me consistently working out for the first time in five years.

Prior to meeting her I would get on gym kicks and go to the gym for a few weeks. I tried classes or worked out on my own at the gym, but nothing kept me going back on a regular basis. Without motivation or willpower I would continue to repeat the cycle. I hated working out. I felt it was so boring!

The Fit Fem classes are awesome and they get results! Sylvia does a great job pushing you and makes you not want to give up. You definitely feel as though you worked out when you’re done. I would recommend her classes to anyone looking to get active or stay active.

Since the end of August, I lost almost 20 pounds. I attribute this success to the classes I have consistently been going to. I did also revamp my eating habits. I love candy and chips and did my best to eat them only in moderation. I stick to clean food…lots of chicken and vegetables! I also try my best to stay away from processed foods. Although diet is a huge part of losing weight, I contribute most of being successful to the Fit Fem. Once I was able to get on a schedule to work out regularly, everything else was so much easier.

Nancy - Lost 22 Lbs

My name is Nancy, I’m 37 years and I have an 8-year-old girl. I’ve always struggled with weight, especially after I had my daughter. I couldn’t get rid of my weight gained during the pregnancy.

About a year ago I looked at myself in the mirror and I hated the way I looked. I had to do something about it, so I spoke with Sylvia and she started me on a diet program and encouraged me to start exercising three to four times a week at least.

I don’t live in New York, but I have been working out for quite a while now and Sylvia always had great tips and advice for me. I lost a total of 22 pounds and I feel so much better about myself. I can start loving the way I look all over again.

Sylvia is a great motivational fitness instructor. I would recommend everyone to attend a class taught by her, I wish I could. You will leave the class feeling fit and accomplished. She takes fitness to the next level! She’s an amazing fitness instructor.

What can I say about Syl, The Fit Fem? She has changed my life completely, inside and out. I have struggled with my weight my entire life and for the last few years I had gotten to my heaviest and I wasn't happy. I knew I needed to do something to change how I looked and felt about myself.  A friend told me about Syl’s cardio kickboxing classes and I tried it out. 

After her first class, I was breathless and exhausted but yet I felt energized.  After a few classes, I was hooked! I couldn't believe how much activity was packed into that hour.  That’s when I asked this spunky, energetic, always encouraging person for personal training. I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to do what she asked. In class and always with a smile, she pushes you to do more even when you want to give up.  I thought to myself, what is it going to be like when I'm alone with her? Well, there was nothing to be afraid of.  She worked my butt off and every session was worth it. I got stronger, physically and mentally.

Even when I didn't think I could continue, Syl was there making me believe in myself, encouraging me to push through.  She provided me with workouts to do, a nutrition plan and also kept my mindset in check. It got to a point that I enjoyed working out because my body felt good afterwards.
At this point due to exercise, changing my eating habits by eating cleaner, and Syl’s constant support,  I have lost approximately 30 pounds. Not only did I embrace working out when Sylvia trained me, but I also love going to her classes. I like the variety and the high energy she brings to her classes.

And now I started doing her online classes and LOVE them! It's just liking having Sylvia right there with me, though nothing compares to having her with you in person. There are a wide variety of videos/exercises from which to choose.  They are easy to follow and they give you a heck of a workout! She explains the workouts and does them with you on the tv screen. She has given me (and continues to give) so much support and guidance, and I am eternally grateful.  I continue to do her classes and videos because I am not yet where I want to be, but I know I will get there!  Syl, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful Syl is as a personal trainer and as a person. When I contacted her, I was a certified train wreck, so out of shape and demoralized. When Syl first came to my house, she was immensely patient and knowledgeable. She pushes me out of my comfort zone and to do my best every session.

At every step of the way of my weight loss journey, she has been cheering me on. I seriously could not have accomplished what I have to this degree without her by my side. Every victory has been celebrated. She truly "gets" the fact that I've been overweight since childhood and struggled with such immense discouragement when I would fail at every attempt to become healthier.  

I have to share that when I was a kid, I hated those fitness tests they would give during gym so much because I was always the last kid to complete the 600 yard run. I couldn't even run the entire time. Talk about humiliating!  The anxiety I had from that was enormous and stayed with me for decades. For the first time in my life at the age of 38, because of Sylvia's training, I was able to run non-stop for a mile and did it in under 11 minutes. First time ever!  I never believed that I could actually accomplish that and had to stop myself from crying when I did. It's such a mind-blowing experience to accomplish something that you truly thought you would never do.

I am so grateful to Syl and Serena, one of her fabulous team trainers, for making me a healthier person. Now I have so much more endurance and energy that I can use to take care of my young son. And more importantly, I realized that you can achieve things you never thought possible! Thanks Syl and Serena!

Caroline - Lost 4% Body Fat, 9 Inches

I am a 37 year old mother of 2. I had no idea the impact that children would have on my body. I always tried to be an active person, but kids can really suck all the energy out of you. I couldn’t imagine having time to exercise so, I let myself go. It was when I went on vacation with my family and that I realized that I couldn’t stand the sight of myself. The idea of being in a bathing suit or skirt depressed me immensely. And to top it off, my father-in-law took a picture of me by the pool and I didn’t even recognize myself. That’s when I said it’s time to do something.

So, I researched on the internet and the first site to come up was The Fit Fem. I said what the heck and emailed Sylvia. Shortly after, she contacted me and we were on the phone talking like we had known each other for a while. Sylvia was so motivating and enthusiastic that she instantly got me excited to start this journey. We discussed my fitness goals and how we can start training while scheduling around my job and 2 kids. Within a few days, I had my first training session. I had no idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at how down to earth and knowledgeable my trainer was. She didn’t preach or lecture, but instead she encouraged me to make small changes which in turn had a big impact on reaching my goals. She pushed me to workout harder than I ever had before and cheered me on when I thought I couldn’t do another squat or push up. She also opened my eyes to how poor my diet was and what I needed to do to be healthier and see quicker results.

It’s been a few months and I can honestly say that emailing Sylvia and working with one of her Fit Fem trainers has changed my lifestyle completely. Exercise has become part of my life again and I have more energy to keep up with my kids and I feel better about myself. I am so grateful to The Fit Fem!! You are the BEST!!
